Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or

This was quite good. Took a little while to really open up, but nice flavors of orange peel, vanilla, and cinnamon, almost Christmas cider like qualities. Overall very good and a very enjoyable wine.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL) : A very good well aged white Burgundy, still displaying hints of ripe fruit behind more earthy elements start-to-finish. Less intense flavors than I'd expect, making the structural components slightly pronounced.

HDH auction tasting at Tru; 3/21/2014-3/22/2014 (Chicago, IL) : Smoky nose of apple cider, earth, and mushrooms. Quite big and complex on the palate, with a palate profile that matches the nose. A relatively pronounced structure, and muted fruit. Lots of funk.

HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL) : Nose of vanilla, fresh lime, and some sea spray. Palate had a distinct sweetness to it with vivid lemon, flint, and slate. Still a powerful wine with a big backbone.

Nutty, sweet and weighty nose. Not dense but pleasant and a nicely made wine but corked - "liege" shortened the wine.
