Didn't note color. Cherry, red licorice, menthol/turpentine (+), herbs on nose. Rich fruit on palate with tart/dark cherry, strawberry - fruit primary still. Medium+ tannins, high acidity, long finish. Preferred to an '08 Produttori Riserva "Paje" drank alongside. Very good value. 91+

PNP - drank over 2 nights. Black in the glass. Tar, menthol, sour cherry, plum and charcoal on nose. Similar palate ex. charcoal and tar. Medium+ body, medium+ tannins, medium acidity and long finish. Enjoyable. 91-92 range this go around.

Decanted for 1 hour. Very impressed with this wine. Opened as a 1st wine to go with a 2013 Ridge Cabernet, and I preferred this wine. I did not take formal notes, but from memory this wine had fresh fruit on the nose & palate - sweet cherry, blackberry and black cherry with menthol and pipe tobacco. Full body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and long finish. As noted earlier, this wine had nice secondary characteristics along with very fresh fruit …
