Perfumed aromas along with plum, savoury herbs, cherry, cream, and subtle bell pepper. The palate is savoury, carrying ripe plum and bell pepper alongside vanilla and pepper spice, with a faint mint lift on the finish. One bottle remains; I'll check in closer to the ten year mark. The second day the fruit was bit sweeter, some red currant, but the savoury notes were also pronounced with a hint of iron, and menthol. The score went up a point.

Turned this up on my ongoing quest for good QPR in Bordeaux around the ~$30 range. Not my best find. Diffident but fine nose of chocolate-covered blueberry, mocha, cola and prominent oak. Falls apart in the palate though, with stringy, green tannin and an unbalanced sting of acid. A noticeable amount of heat as well.

Trying this in its youth its very accessible with nice chewy tannins and medium+ acidity. Lots of bouncy raspberry, plum, cherry, vanilla, cloves, woodsmoke and stony minerality with a touch of wild herbs and some lingering currants and blueberries. It definitely has the potential to show a 90+ wine in 5 years but at this time this should be a great wine with prime rib or a less creamy risotto with wild mushrooms.

A week in Bordeaux (Mouton, Pontet Canet, D'Issan, Langoa & Leoville Barton, SHL, Arbo, Pavie, Fleur de Bouard, Cheval Blanc, VCC, Figeac); 5/21/2023-5/26/2023 (Left and Right banks of Bordeaux) : Drank with lunch (roasted chicken) @ La Dominique's La Terrasse Rouge. PNP. Super young and tannic but began drinking well near the end of the meal. Decent wine but not anything I'd seek out again... Brad - heavypourwine.com

Deep garnet colour, no sign of age. Rich, fruit cake nose, more reminiscent of a new wave Languedoc wine than Bordeaux. Quite a rich, spicy palate, acidity still very much present, not so much tannin. Reasonable finish. Good but not much complexity, and seems unlikely to develop tertiary flavours, but no great hurry to drink.

Quite ripe, forward. Franc really comes through (30%). Screaming value @ €10
