Solar Fortun Petit Verdot

I wish I had tasted this blind. What would I have made of it? On one hand, I’m fascinated by this wine, and on the other I don’t much like it (though it’s clearly well made). Am I prejudiced by the varietal or the region? This wine’s core is concentrated plummy fruit with a lot of tannins. There are streaks of greenness and whiffs of gaminess.
