If chalk could be tart...

red currant, prune, cigar box. muted and mulled, with occasional tart bites. this may have fallen out of balance as it aged past its prime.

So this is a very solid weeknight Malbec which delivers blueberry-vanilla cream pie with milk chocolate shavings, then a sweet smoky-tobacco and tarragon-white pepper kick. Smooth and very easy on the palate. Nicely balanced and at the perfect age, totally digging it! 91+

Dark crimson. Plum, black pepper, and whiskey barrel nose. Medium bodied, cranberries, earth, dusty cherries, grainy tannins, tobacco, smoke, and a medium length finish. Tasty and a great value.

Structured and with earthy and smoky notes. A bit too much tannin but ok.

Popped and poured through an aerator (as always). Wonderful dark fruits, good complexity. Tannins seemed a bit harsh at first, but half an hour in the glass and that disappeared completely. Maybe it was me. Drinking very well right now. Just as good on day 2 with steak and green beans. This is a fantastic Malbec for less than $12. It'd be a good Malbec at $20. We're happy we have 11 more.

Nice medium to full bodied M. Deep plu, vanilla and smoky notes. Some chocolate on the palate. Robust tannins that gives it a good structure. Very good for the price.

Second bottle - I tried the last one about a year ago. I'm upgrading the score a bit - I think this is solid - well balanced, very drinkable, moderate complexity. For $15, it's a winner.

A very nice weekday Malbec.Dark black plum with depth and a smooth finish, however, a slight green pepper vegetal note is present. Pointing to some unripe fruit making it into the vats, extra sorting would make this wine even better.

9 months in the cellar since my last bottle and this wine is now delightful. Dark dense texture with plum flavors. Not highly acidic or tannic, not complex but decent fruit and finish. Buying more.
