Maybe the best Ant Hill vintage

Excellent Pinot. Drinking at peak, or close to (at least for my palate). Lovely balance. Highlight for me is its nose - incredible perfume. On the palate, excellent acidity - and a ton of “Pinosity”.

Quite light and translucent. Sweet Asian spice and sweet potatoes. Smoke and tart cherries. Juicy acids.

Lots of berries, cherries, and red fruit on the nose with some spices and herbs. Good acidity with more red berries and tart red fruit on the palate. Good finish. Nice, but somewhat straightforward and maybe a bit boring CA Pinot.

High acidity. Soft red-fruited. Decent. Should improve in the medium term.

Delightful, but well too young

Showed nice today, exotic spice mix, dried red florals, mixed of dark red and blue fruits on the nose, juicy on the attack that becomes slightly linear on the mid palate, crispy mouthfeel, with a medium finish

Somewhat cloudy in appearance. The fruity is there, but is not very expressive. Note sure where this is going.

Nose is spicy and complex. Palette is taught and vibrant. A beautiful wine but I expected a rounder showing.

13 months later, and our last. Shows nice cherry black fruit, but strikes us as more lean than prior bottles. Energetic, good acidity. Nice enough over three nights, but as a general matter, we prefer this winery’s Anderson Valley bottlings.

Tight at first with no nose or fruit. By the time the nose opened up the fruit was a mess and disjointed. Very poor showing.

A year later, still very nicely spicy. Forest floor. Maybe a small touch of funk or Brett. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

So hard to believe but borscht on the nose. A first for me. This ain't representative of the cali varietal. Hot and spicy like a domestic Syrah. Medium length finish dominated by a gravel terrior. 'Like the peter vineyard better. Good quality négociant producer...

Similar to the note below (and typically spicy in the house style) but we found that it smoothed out quite nicely with more air on nights two and three.

Green valley. Fertile soil and high humidity. Expressive nose with intense berry notes, mainly from dark berries, but some red also appear after a while. The acidity has some lemon notes and gets slightly harsh and they dominate the wine in the finish. This wine is not in perfect balance yet, but hopefully this will improve with some time.
