Domaine de la Chapelle des Bois Fleurie Grand Pré

Spectacular Fleurie. Soft black fruit nose with a touch of spice followed by a palate bursting with dark stone fruits, white pepper, and some floral elements. Soft tannins, fine balance, long midpalate, spot on acid. Very Beaujolais in character. Drank very well at cellar temperature. In a real great place -- this is really a joy to drink. A very well made wine. Quite impressive.

Upon first opening this has the typical earthy/yeasty/fruity Beaujolais aroma but as it opens the earth pulls back and plays a supporting role to the soft fruit with hints of herbs as well. The wine is a dark, thick plum in color and mostly fruit on the palate. Dark tangy fruits, spice and herbs and just a hint of bubble-gummy fruit on the long finish.
