Deep dark purple-garnet in color; almost opaque. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of briary & earthy/dusty notes, spices, herbs, cocoa, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & blueberries with spices, herbs, minerals, dark cocoa & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at …

Vineyard planted in 1945, this is across the 101 from the (older) Benito Dusi vineyard made famous by Ridge. This is classic old-school Zinfandel, aged 16 months in 80% French and 20% American oak, some, but not all new. 15.5% abv, naturally. Subtle as a flying mallet. Full of zinberry and oak spice. Warming, but I wouldn't call it hot.

Totally unbalanced. Way too heavy on cedar with fruit.

Nice fruit forward Zinfandel. Paired with Koren Short Ribs - awesome. Well balanced, low tannins, cherry, raspberry, blackberry. Very enjoyable

Drank one of these in Feb ‘19. This one seems at the threshold of its decline. A little harsh up front, followed by some solid structure on the mid-palate, and a nice peppery finish. Solid Paso Zin, but not a fruit a bomb. Time to drink it if you’ve got it. Nicely done, Janelle.

Bright fruit, bing cherries, strawberry restrained and balanced tannins and prunes at the finish. Delightful, very drinkable food friendly zin

Wine had a sharp, effervescent texture on the tongue. Strongly acidic

Pulled this out of the cellar on the chance it would pair with a BGE smoked turkey. It was great. Lots of dark fruit, medium body, long finish. Light to medium tannins. Sides were mushroom risotto and sautéed zucchini.

Delicious fun wine with notes of leather on the nose, followed by raspberry, dates and a hint of lychee on the palate!

Great pairing with tri-tip. I took MOUNTSTER27's advice and decanted for an hour+, but this didn't ever really broaden out with the spice and layering I seem to remember when we bought at the winery. It remained focused on the small berry red fruit and sometimes got a little grapey as Zin can do. Very nicely done, not heavy or gloppy, but along with the more transparent profile I wish it had more to grab my interest.

Dark fruit behind mouthwatering acid. Not exactly what I was expecting and drank under wrong circumstances and probably a year early. Needs food and air. Definitely opened up with time that we didn't really give it.
