Light gold colour. Light bodied. Complex nose of slight oxidation, quince and lemon acidity. Palate highly acidic, dry, preserved lemons but unforgiving, lean and little richness. Might be too young but I think won't have the reserve of richness to balance the amount of acidity and the oxidation suggests it won't last too long. Had decanted but it deteriorated. Can see why it was discounted.

91 Amarillo verdoso, joven.

Bella botella.

Unfortunately these impressions don't carry through to the palate, which is rather lean and ungenerous. This is a shame because there are nice minerals and mouthwatering acidity here, but not enough body and 'substance'. May be too young...

With a bottle like this, I wonder whether I am faced by bottle variation or am suffering from palate variation. Unlike the previous this bottle seemed thin and undernourished being aromatically closed and lacking in underlying "gras" with little to balance the minerals and acidity. Only quite good.

After a series of mature and evolved whites, both Burgs and Loire chenin, where even those which are not (prem)oxed tend to show porty and slightly cloying finishes, this 4 year old is really refreshing. Colour is a limpid pale yellow and the nose is fresh with some citrus and lots of minerals with some underlying "gras". The medium plus bodied palate plays variations on the same themes with nervous tension, crisp acidity and a mineral spine which veers towards …
