Deep dark garnet in color; almost opaque. Full, forward, & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of briary & earthy notes, spices, dried herbs, cocoa, coffee beans, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & blueberries with spices, herbs, minerals, dark cocoa & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks …

Dark, glossy, almost opaque in the glass, with a nose of blackberry jam, blueberry compote, and a touch of warm baking spice. The palate is big, plush, and fruit-forward... bramble, dark blue fruits, and a long, warming finish that feels both bold and cozy. One guest said it best: it was "like a sleeping bag" for his tongue. A stellar pairing with smoked turkey on Thanksgiving Day!

Concentrated and broad-shouldered showing ripe cherry compote, licorice, raisin, blackberry and black pepper. Full bodied, medium acidity and firm well integrated tannins. No stone left unturned here. Definitely for the fans of the “big” in your face style like myself. NI:5, FI:24, FC:9, B:4, L:4

Tasting room visit. Deep ruby color, pure and translucent. Aromas of blueberry & blackberry fruit with clove, vanilla, ground pepper, lavender, and leather. Ripe on the palate leaning toward baked, with dark fruit, spices and floral depth. Round, full, and voluptuous density, with medium acid, and round juicy tannins. Full finish with lingering spice.

Gravel, blueberry and cherry compote on the nose. Mixed jam on the palate with a little spice. Long leathery finish. Should get better with a couple more years of aging.

Nose of petrol and a soft palate of blueberry jam. OK, but a bit sweet with less structure than I'm used to from a Ridge Zinfandel. Tasted at Ridge Lytton Springs.

Dark crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. 100% Zinfandel from Benito Dusi Ranch in Paso Robles. High toned nose black fruits, licorice and mint. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity and balance. Rich, silky and concentrated. Blackberry, raspberry liqueur, strawberry and white pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Sublime Zinfandel that will drink well for another 3-5 years.

My sons bday so I had to pop a 2010, and this worked just fine! Nice nose full of red fruits, but a slightly 'baked' note gave me pause. Not to worry though as it was great on the palate with cranberries, raspberries, and black pepper on the finish. Full minus bodied with a tiny bit of heat that makes me think it's better to drink these sooner than later. Glad I opened this today and cheers to my amazing …

I liked this bottle better than the previous one. Maybe this is because I've tasted some older Ridge Zins that are past their prime, and this one still was quite attractive with nice spice tempered by 20% Carignane that is apparent in the finish. Enjoy now and don't hold this wine any longer. (7/10/2023) Quite dark. At this point showing its age both in bouquet and taste. Typical Ridge Zin: 14+% alcohol and quite soft plus vanilla from American oak …

Unlike many Ridge Zins of this age, it's still quite together, tho certainly at its peak. Perhaps it's the nature of the vintage or the location of the vineyard (Alexander Valley) that has kept this wine fresh despite its 14.7% alcohol. Anyway, it's a nice quaff. Not sure why Ridge doesn't source from this vineyard anymore. 84% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah, 4% Carignane.

Still has beautiful color. First impression on nose is pepper, then brambly fruit and spice notes. On the palate, blackberry and black raspberry with bright acid. Seems like it will go well with our pizza and salad tonight.

VAGENIUS describes the wine well. I enjoyed my bottle as I am always pleasantly surprised how well Ridge Zins hold up when stored well. I think this bottle has probably peaked 1-2 years ago and is starting on it's "decline." So if you are still holding a bottle or 2, I would enjoy by the end of 2022 to stay in the bracket VAGENIUS' description.

Nose of raspberries, cherries, and sun-dried tomato. Smooth waves of purple fruit provide a soft caressing wash over the tongue. Mineral and raspberry finish with acidity and light dustiness. Surprisingly fruit-forward and lively for its age... wine of the night.

Ridge's 2010 Dusi Ranch Zinfandel is at its peak today, bursting from the glass with all the generous blackberry fruit that's so typical of this site, its élevage at this stage beautifully integrated into the background. Medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with melting tannins and tangy animating acids, it's a delicious bottle that's characterful without being complex.

Slightly low neck fill - a weeper. Dark garnet color in glass with obvious browning. Burnt fruit in bouquet. Medium body on palate with moderate tannins but oxidation obvious. Fading and drying out. Faint particles of sediment line the inside on the bottle. Drink up!

Pretty fresh and vibrant still. The 20% Carignan seems to dominate with it's forward plum fruit. It smells like last years Carignan still. It brings a lot onto the palate as well. This has enough acidity but drinks a touch round in feel. It seems like it's going to go a while given this performance. Not a lot of complexity though. Maybe the Zin just didn't have enough to keep up with the Carignan or maybe it's in a closed …

I agree with ALRO's note. I believe this is the bottle's last peak year if it has been well stored. It paired beautifully with a meal of braised short ribs with a tangy sauce. Long finish with interesting notes embedded within. Drink up soon to enjoy fully. Note: I double decanted, 30 min initially in a decanter and then back into the bottle to take to a friend's house for the braised ribs. It was ready to go and then …

Even in a 20 year old cab I’ve never seen so much sediment. I let it breathe 45 minutes and as the label says, “the acidity is unusually firm”. Went fine with elk burgers, but not my favorite Ridge zin.

Ridge never disappoints....and this Dusi Ranch Zin proved quite worthy....probably peaking now but could enjoy for another year, maybe 2 if properly cellared. thick mouthfeel and VERY long finish. Deep dark violet color, initially bright on the palate, transposing into a very complex, delicious experience.

At tasting. Brief note. Nose and palate are powerful and structured showing deep baking spices, purple and blue fruits, bitter/amaro notes with time. There's nothing jammy or confected about this. Midpalate has a rich mouthfeel that is at once coating yet light on its feet and not sluggish thanks to the perky acidity. If this is what balanced Cali zin can aspire to be consider me a fan. Well made and a lovely wine.

This is drinking beautifully now. Big, hefty Zin profile, but with a silky smooth, resolved tanin profile. Tasters around the table thought this was Southern Rhone in the class it featured. Perfect match with Diane's fabulous ribs!!

Quite delicious. Even tasted great the next evening after being open for 24 hours and re-corked. Nice medium to full body, on the dry side (especially for a Zinfandel). Not overtly fruity and too sweet - just the right amount of flavor. Enjoyed this one quite a bit! Ate with fish and then chicken and paired well with both.

PnP. With chilli. Great chilli wine. Black fruit nose dominant. Compliments the spiciness in the chilli. Blackberry currant and cherries pop even with the food. Mild tannins blend nicely. Doesn't feel like the window is closing on this one but it is brilliant now so enjoy.

100% Zinfandel. Deep garnet color in glass with thin browning rims. Stylish, dusty Zin bouquet. Medium body, warm fruit and drying tannins on palate. Some oxidation evident. No one dimensional fruit bomb this. Starting to fade but still very nice. Thin film of sediment in empty bottle. Drink up!

Served with home-made sourdough sausage pizza. Crimson/ruby, still good depth of color. Lots of sediment. Nose: plum/raisin, with just a touch of tarragon. Some fruit-based sweetness, very light tannin, cherry in mid-palate, moderated acid. Probably past its prime, but improved somewhat with an hour and a half of air.
