Deep dark inky purple hue. Blueberry, blackcurrant. Tiny hint of menthol but really restrained for its type and price. Quite lush, not overly complicated, but really pretty old world in style and very good effort for its price and age. Drinking well now

Deep Ruby with Garnet Hues. Intense, complex nose. Coffee beans, cocoa, leather, olives, black fruits and pepper. Full-bodied, concentrated, powerful and balanced. Medium to gigh acidity. Strong but round tannins, very well-integrated. Medium, juicy finish.

Acid

Syrahs from different continents to challenge a 100-point score (Skype) : Wine 2 of 6 (blind). Medium to dark ruby colour. Expressive nose. Violets, good red and dark berry fruit, dark cherry, blackberry, some black currant, milk chocolate, light spice notes, some vanilla, and light oak. Darker than wine 1. Quite a ripe, rich nose leaning more toward ‘Shiraz’ than ‘Syrah’, some medicinal hints; nice richness on the palate, good core of fruit. Finishes a bit suddenly. My issue here is the lack of definition, I wouldn’t call it as a Syrah. It’s a bit muddled.

30+ minute decant. Purple and red color mix. Restrained nose of blackberries and bbq chicken. Nice blue and black fruit, but lacked depth. Great texture and extremely easy drinking. Paired nicely with pasta. I really enjoyed this for the price!

Believe this wine is starting to fade or this bottle stored improperly, a bit of funk on it and primary fruit faded.

Sour cherry and chocolate

CR- Berries and spice, nice soft tannins after 45 min of Breathing. Decent structure and should get better for 4-6 years. Long finish after it opened up. SHS -very good after opening up, smooth, a little spicy but very good 90 points

Nez assez aromatique et typique d'une syrah rhodanienne...mûre, poivre, fumée, violette. En bouche, l'alcool domine et sa structure tannique et fruitée ne la digère pas assez à mon goût.

Deep ruby with ver slight purple edge. Black currant nose, hint of green and slight eucalyptus. Black currant on palate. Dry with acidity. Soft tannins. Long aftertaste. This is a very good wine for the price, but I do think it was drunk too early. I would give this another 2-3 years when I suspect it would be exceptional.

Deep ruby, gorgeous bouquet of blackberry, dark fruit. Some oak. Loads of fruit in this wine, but didn’t really manifest as I thought it would on the taste with tannins and earthy flavours being prominent. Maybe the wine was a bit closed, but had been open for an hour. I will keep the other bottle I have for a while and maybe give extended opening time or drink next day.

Decero and Errazuriz winery visit; 1/26/2017-2/5/2017 (Argentina and Chile) : North-facing, volcanic soils. 'granular tannin, but not unripe.' 'herbal, violet, spice.' 14 months, 10% new French. Reminds me of Maxime Graillot Crozes. Violet and herb, but still concentrated. pepperiness to the palate with elegant purple fruit. enough concentrate to mask any astringency from the black pepper on the palate.

Opacité élevé. Bel intensité olfactive appuyé par des notes de cerises, framboises fruits noirs. Boisé. Bonne longueur en bouche.
