Light ruby red color. Really expressive nose of red fruit with cranberry and raspberry at the fore and floral notes in the background. The palate is packed with ripe cherry, raspberry, and cranberry to give some lovely tartness while a touch of soil is evident on the spicy finish. This medium-bodied wine has balanced acidity to give the red fruit adequate lift. Overall, this is a unique, extremely well made wine, from a top vineyard, that balances ripe, red fruit …

Remained the fan favorite in vertical of 11, 12, and 13. Less concentrated and fruit forward than the later vintages but still a quite nice and balanced wine with beautiful floral notes and bright berries and cherry with some cola on the finish. Still bright and acidic, this could easily last another couple of years in the cellar. Unfortunately I'm out.

Solid Macphail. Nothing overly noteworthy.

I was surprise to still find this wine at the tasting room. Tasting better than I remembered. Great integrated red berry flavors with aromas of forest floor & a touch of eucalyptus.

Bummer. Last bottle exceeded expectations. Was excited for this one. Tasted like Welch's grape juice.

This did well in a blind tasting of 13 pinots. A little zippy on the acidity for some though. This is my style vs the big fruit bombs

Got the cherry and baking spices, but a little acidic and the finish was a little short. Still LOVE the MacPhail wines, just not into 2011's that much. Not a great year for wine.

Not typical- very low in alcohol for Macphail, but a lovely 2011. Earthy, cooked cherries, savory. Takes a little time to open up- this is a brooding wine, as opposed to its 2012 super lively fruit forward vintage. Nice representation of sonoma from this year.

PnP, took good hour for nose of spice, baked cherry and toasted oak to appear. Palate is this wine's strength, with savory notes, some baking spice complementing its baked cherry fruit core. Very balanced and elegant wine. Not a great deal of complexity, but good representation of Sonoma Coast pinot. Medium plus acidity and nice long finish accompany very fine tannins. Drinking well overall but aromatics somewhat closed down.
