Surprisingly good Merlot. Medium/- tannin. Not so smokey. Nice fruit and concentration. An edgier style, but, again, surprisingly good.

Not bad for a budget SA Merlot. This wine poured a little on the thin side. Maroon color with a hint of violet. The nose was intriguing. I was getting a lot of clove on this one that I typically do get with most South Africa wines. The entry of this one was darker than expected. Lots of acidity and bright black cherry fruit.
