Out of a closed phase and ready to go. This was bursting with red fruit and acid on the pop, plenty of structure. Unfortunately I had to go so put into fridge for a day. Still quite good but not near as good as the brief taste yesterday. The mouth is still excellent, plenty of tannins and volume but carried in a light manner. Dark ruby but translucent. Starts out with dark fruit, mild mineral, and a stern character, but softens over a couple hours and completely changes to red fruit, mild mineral, and spice but still with slightly dry tannin. I tasted this wine 2 years ago shortly after bottling (when it was boisterous and effusing myriad flavors) and I can say without reservation that it is completely shut down.
