Dark in color. Nose was closed, but body was red fruit and black pepper. Nice bottle, at a good point.

Blackish red with moderate bricking. Cassis and plum nose. Complex, primarily strawberry but also black currant undertone. Absolutely prime and delicious.

Very Burgundian in style, nice balance of fruit, tannin and ripe berry medium fruit! Drinks well with Venison! Last one, wish we had more of this one!

Excellent!! Smooth flavors of medium, rich dark fruits. Nose to match. Lingering finish of the rich flavors. Perfect balance of fruit, tannin and acid. Drink now! Not good the second day.

Light ruby with ripe strawberry nose. Bright red berry, ripe strawberries, light to medium fruit and body, tart cherries and some mineral earthy gravel notes on the PnP with some bitter tannins creeping in. Developing nicely with an hour of air, well balanced with acid livening up the red fruits, Santa Rosa plums and well integrated tannins. These '10s have all been good with bright fruit. Probably the best ever vintage for me. Drinking superbly now. Unfortunately not the best …

A 2008 that is out of the tunnel. Showed some budding complexity, while still being very fruit forward (not extracted, just a lot of sweet lush dark berries). Good structure. Went perfectly well with some pork confit and potato stomp and mild apple/habanero chutney and steamed string beans in olive oil and seasalt. Great wine to accompany the christmas spread.

Harvest moon over Willamette Valley; 9/20/2009-9/25/2009 (Willamette Valley, various wineries) : 90-92. We did a lot of barrel sampling this day but just have to give a head's up on this one. such fruit! a bold style pinot but with great structural promises, and this is so far from being ready to go. Expect great things. Same can be said for much of the other 08's we got to preview, and personally I thought some of the other barrels were …
