Far better than my first bottle. Lovely nose of dark cherries, forest and mushroom, spices, and dried leaves. Nice acid with decent grip on the palate. Not as dense and opulent as the 1982, but delicious nonetheless. Excited to try the 1990 next.

Tasty but showing its age. A bit overripe on the nose. Still good balance.

Aged nicely with some cool tertiary notes, but it's also distractingly sweet on the palate. Cool to have an old bottle, but not entirely worth a focused purchase.

Still drinking well, though probably not for much longer.

'No Masks' Hong Kong Dinner (Table, 8th Floor, The Pemberton, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong) : Slightly musty velvet colour. Nose is confit strawberry, some musk and undergrowth. Palate is acidic and past it. Past its prime and its remaining enjoyment window.
