Huge dark inky wine, big fruit, some raisin, High alcohol (15.8) but the fruit covers the heat. Plenty of acid to keep this from getting cloying. Plenty of structure and decent balance, but I may choose to enjoy this sooner for the big fruit. I’m not convinced this will age gracefully, but it has most of the ingredients.

Purple. Medium to full body, plum, black cherry, oak, pepper. Dry. Soft. Tannic. I liked the 2016 better.

At 15.8% ABV, this comes in higher than I generally like on the alcohol, but it’s not shocking for a Petite Sirah. Dry, high tannin and body. Dark fruits with hints of licorice and spice. Definitely a wine for beef, as the tannins and alcohol will overpower anything else. It did compliment the steak well.

Lots of tannin. Save next bottle for a nice fatty meal

No formal notes - working from memory. PnP with friends. Fruit-forward, jammy, ripe red figs, plum, licorice, tinge of smoke and camphor. Quite nice.
