My last bottle. Still has that sweet Napa juice up front so can take several more years in the cellar probably. After decanting and some air the tannic grip shows and makes it feel more complex + a better match for the grilled elk, deer and wild boar that we served.

Drinking very well now with room to improve. Classic Napa dusty currant, licorice, and a touch of violet; tannins present but softened, in excellent balance, supple. 13.5 abv. No hurry at all.

Very nice classic California cab, unlike the current wines of Napa etc I’ve had several since release and the last bottle was the best bottle and such young vines! As with all cali cab, not the most delineated and nuanced but it is a very nice wine

Deep, dark, almost opaque purple hue, a mild but true aroma of classic cabernet, with notes of green pepper; dense, rich fruit with very mild tannins, clean and pure on the palate, with good acid balance; finishes equally clean and long. Probably 10-15 years left to enjoy this high-altitude rarity.

This is great. A wonderful example of an aged CA made in a more elegant and restrained style. An un-sweet fruit, herbal and floral nose. Inviting. An excellent and well defined taste of blueberries, cinnamon minerals. lemon and a touch of vanilla. All nicely integrated and softened with time. Complex shifting aromas of flowers, blackberries, blueberries, graphite, pine sap, a wonderful meeting and melding. Lovely concentration of dark fruit on the palate with welded tannins moving into a harmonious aromatic finish. Dense weightlessness, shadows and light, movement and poise. Delicious with prime ribeye, rajas, and corn.

Drinking very well right now! The texture is softer, although the long finish ends in a velvety glove hiding tannins and freshness to die for. The fruit is slightly mature, and perhaps not as much in your face, some pine tree, chocolate and sloe berries. Just lovely.

wonderful balance, smooth and long finish with nice dark cherry and some light chocolate notes. A hint of spice and herbs round it out. Tannins feel ripe and balanced. Drinks fine now, probably 2 years more in the bottle before the cherry fruit evolves into more complex flavors, but its pretty perfect now.

Showing currant and berry fruit on the nose, roasted coffee and bourbon-coconut notes. Solid tannic structure, some nice grip, but the acid provides balance. Black currant fruit abounds, as do the coffee, vanilla and pepper notes. A forward wine with lots of personality, but nice structure and complexity. Long, creamy, toasty finish. Seems like it could benefit from a bit of time sideways.
