Trivento Amado Sur

Needed 20 minutes to open up, had berry up front, surprising hot spice feel before the sweet velvet finish. Interesting progression, I can see it would go well with grilled meat.

Crimson-purple; black cherries, blackberries, blueberries; ripe cherry/berry, slightly spicy, creamy, full body, decent acidity, ripe tannins, lingering finish. Lush, brooding dark fruit, good heat and sneaky long finish. Like what these other varietals add to the Malbec. Would go with any grilled red meat.

A blend of 80% Malbec, 10% Bonarda and 10% Syrah. The Bonarda helps soften and round out the Malbec, and the Syrah helps add another layer of spice and complexity. Clear, ruby red, medium plus in intensity. The nose is clean, medium in intensity, with both black and red fruit, medicinal herbs, alcohol, smoke and mocha. The nose is of medium complexity and developing. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium plus acidity, alcohol (14%) and tannins. …

The blend is better in theory than practice; the malbec seems smothered by the other two varietals; the nose is pleasant but the palate is pedestrian; there are better malbecs, even for the price

A big new world wine, sure to please general crowds for $12. 80% malbec, 10% bonarda, 10% syrah Inky deep purple color Nose has hints of eucalyptus, spice, vanilla, bit of dark fruit. Simple, big red fruit in the mouth, influence of oak quite present, but not overwhelming. Pair with a ribeye, bolder meats.

Didn't care for this bottle. The tannins were pretty heavy. It was a very fruity wine, which may have been what turned me off. I wanted to try something new, but this won't make my buy again list.

Big, round new world wine. Like strawberries on steroids. Lots of red fruit with a good balance of oak; enough tannin to keep from being a sweet, fruity wine. Alcohol heat lingers in the aftertaste. Better than a pure malbec.

Very nice especially at this price point!

Smooth at the start with tannins at the end.
