Vitkin Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir Blind tasting (Oinoscent) : Nice aromas of ripe red berries and cherries, quite the warm and spicy profile, a bit earthy and oaky decadent and old world like. There is a mint freshness (or better like a chocolate covered thin mint). The palate follows the same pattern, red fruit, a few bitter notes, nice acidity, fruit in alcohol, nice fruit, oak notes, a bit thin but my main concern is the bitter med finish. Very good quality, interesting.

Was sein farbliches Kleid betraf zeigte der Vitkin Pinot Noir 2011 ein äußerst dunkles Rubinrot mit dennoch sehr klarer Transparenz und keinerlei Verfärbungen hinzu den im Glase befindlichen Randregionen. In der Nase überraschte mich zunächst ein sehr ungewöhnliches und cremiges wirkendes Potpourri von Pekanussmousse, Eichenholz, eher sanfter Rauch, getrocknete dunkle Kirschen, Dörrpflaumen sowie ein sich erstaunlich gut durch das restliche Potpourri durch-kämpfendes Parfüm an Veilchen. Vitkin Rosh Hashana tasting (New Vitkin winery) : transparent red fruity aroma with spicy hints med-bodied, firm tannins, good acidity level, bit alcoholic finish.

Medium body, pale crimson color, aromatic, complex fresh berry fruits and flowers aroma that continues to same palate, fruity on finish, medium long finish, fresh, juicy, slightly tannic, nice acidity, food friendly. Well associated to hard goat milk cheeses. Open one hour beforehand .Serve 16 – 20º. Drink now.
