Hundred Suns Gamay Noir

Pnp. Light potpourri and roaster nose with a notion of barnyard. Rhubarb and wild strawberry palate seems a bit dilute. Wild strawberry and linear but lingering tannins with medium acidity and light minerality. Wasn’t too impressed on opening but it improved in the glass..

New world gamay. Not quite the earthiness of Cru Beaujolais but this was pleasant to drink chilled (fridge temperature) on a summer night. The 1/3 bottle left corked in the fridge was better the next day. While still not too complicated, there was a little more lightness on day two that made for a great sipper. I prefer the Hundred Sun Pinots, but this was a pleasant change of pace.

A nice mix of sour cranberries, earthiness, pepper and a very dark mineral finish. Lovely peony edge to the nose which gives this away as Gamay. Matched well with grilled tuna. Restrained but not delicate. Score: 91. Relative to expectations: +

Lovely gamay. Juicy and well rounded

This is excellent. Oregon really does a nice job with Gamay. Fruit flavors are sour berry and cranberry with a huge pepper streak right through the middle. Let spiciness contrasted with the fruit is really enjoyable. We paired this with Thai food and it was fantastic.

As mentioned in the other note, getting a lot of earthiness and sour berry notes that I haven't really experience in Gamay before, and I'm really digging it!

Surprisingly earthy nose, dark fruit palate, sour (in a good way) finish. Thicker mouthfeel than anticipated. Quite enjoyable, would like to drink again.
