The wine was medium ruby in colour and offered dark fruit, charcoal, some chocolate, herbs and liquorice on the nose, and sweet mixed berries, spices, some vanilla, liquorice and herbaceous notes on the palate, with lively acidity, medium-level tannin, a good, creamy mouthfeel, good length and a slightly artificial aftertaste. Screw cap. Popped & poured, consumed over a period of two days. The wine offered dark fruit, charcoal, herbs and liquorice on the nose, and mixed berries, cherry, herbs (Jägermeister?), spice, vanilla, liquorice and a hint of chocolate on the palate, with a touch of residual CO2, medium-level acidity and tannin, slightly warming alcohol and good length. The wine was reasonably balanced on day one, but less balanced on day two.
