Duca di Saragnano Governo Toscana IGT

One hour decant, served in the low 60s F. Rich ruby color. Smoke, raspberry and vanilla notes on the nose. Sweet, jammy black fruits, with a dusty nature on the mid-palate, earth, chocolate and charred oak notes. As sweet as the fruit came across, the wine still finished dry. Acidity well-integrated at this point. Pleasantly quaffable with a smooth round mouthfeel, but with the jammy nature of the fruit, not really food-friendly.

Delicious...capital D! Nice body and "jammy" mouthfeel, more than expected. Rich, deep color. Plenty of fruit while remaining dry and able to stand up to food (had it with grilled meat and sauteed greens). Impressed that an IGT aged so well but don't think it can go much longer.

Phenomenal and gorgeous. Aromas of saddle leather, black cherry, and spice. Nutty and smoky. Winner winner chicken dinner (note: did not pair with chicken)

Initial smell and taste are unpleasant. After decantation everything is more less ok, but nothing special to buy again

Wonderful, really easy interesting wine. Plum, rasberry, good minerality, not bitter. Medium tannin on the finish. Really nice wine.

Color: Quite dark and impenetrable for a Tuscan wine. Nose: Pomegranate, red tart berries. A hint of lavender, too. Mouth: I like the fresh acidity. Expressive fruit. There are cherries and raspberries. There is also a slight sandelwood aroma as brigcampbell stated. Medium bodied wine. At this stage it is becoming better with a bit of aeration. Better to wait one or two years.

Middle of the road sangiovese, some nice sandelwood and light cherry core fruit. Fine sandpaper tannins. Worked well with pizza in Riva del Garda.
