More distinguished and compact, the wine is built to age for a few years rather than provide immediate pleasure. A deeper and more complex wine than the Brauneberg, notably with a hint of smoke and a classy texture.

Perfumed, floral and dense with a light layer of smoke. Some ripe lemons and underripe peach on the palate. Inexpressive but has lots of potential. Ripe, integrated acidity

This is an exceptionally good Riesling, however there are some minor gripes. Golden hued viscous wine delivers massive bouquet of aromas dominated by petrol notes as well as gorgeous layers of honey, super ripe peaches, apricots and a cornucopia of tropical fruits. On the palate it is full bodied, dense and concentrated yet quite light on its feet. There are two concerns however. First, the wine is so ripe that it reminded me of Pfalz rather than Mosel. Second - …

Clear, medium golden colour. Clean, med+ nose of creamy peach, acacia, honey, yellow apples, bit of mint, cream, steel, raspberry, almonds, baked sweet spice and dusty soil. A bit more rich and opulent than expected. Dry w noticable sweet fruit, med+ acidity, medium bodied and medium alcohol. Med+ flavours of peach, apples, lemon, mint, slate, baked spice, steel, chalk and almonds. Long finish. Surprisingly developed and ready to PnP, but can be stored as well. Lovely w a bit more …

Glass: Zalto Universal Popped and poured, drunk over 3 days. Clear, pale golden color. Clean, youthful and expressive nose. Papaya, Mango, mineral notes, herbaceous, lots of chalky mineral notes. What a great nose! Like smelling a basket of ripe, fresh exotic fruits! On the palate “Mosel dry”, probably at the very legal edge of being off-dry. Medium+ acidity. 12,5% abv. Again, lovely sweet, exotic fruit basket, melon, peach, mixed with a wonderful mineral core. Lots of tension and energy, beautiful …
