Esprit Meylet, Saint-Emilion

Stood up for 8+ hrs and decanted for 3 hrs and yet still fairly closed. Not the best vintage but I felt it lent itself to a more classically styled claret. Nice fresh acids, not offering much else but there were peaks into some dark fruits and tannins which were pretty disjointed. Ruby with youthful rim; nose of cracked fall leaves, cassis compote, graphite, nutmeg, ripe cherries and eucalyptus; palate follows nose with addition of tar; silky but firm tannins; shortish finish
