Yummy, notably after day one. Buttery, glycerine-type of taste has been described in other notes. A bit stringent on day one, much more at ease on day two and three. Decanting when opening up might benefit this wine for now.

This is a full bodied, buttery Chardonnay with rich flavours of citrus and oak. A serious, concentrated wine with high alcohol content and powerful aftertaste. You can't fail to see the class and personality here.

As always reliable as a rich chardonnay with sufficient acidity and good length, superb balance. Long aftertaste.

It hat grapefruit in the nose , but more buttery in taste. Strange…For sure Chardonnay , tropical fruit , and some wood. Nice to drink and easy.

Had this again today and this bottle was way better than the one tried in March. Peach, white flowers, smoke. This is very elegant now, rich, acid in right place. Good balance here, like this. Maybe prior bottle was in a strange phase, don't know. This one is just a better wine

Had 2018 in the summer of 2021 and 2019 in Feb 2022. Both were really good. This 2020 bottle is a bit disappointing compared to 2018 and 2019 in this phase. It needs air and at warmer temp this gets better. Cold this was not pleasant, with something slightly unbalanced and hot on palate. Will need to try the other bottles in future and reassess, but something different with 2020. Final impression is this remains hot and a little unbalanced …

47th Viceroy's B'Day; 9/28/2017-10/1/2017 (Restaurant La Piperna - Madrid) : Maybe because I had highest expectations about this bottle it was nothing more than a vulgar wine without any special element to stand out. Ripe peaches (tropical fruit for the others) and a little more. Good bitterness, nice aftertaste in a watery texture. Boring at its best. Porque tenía las mayores expectativas sobre esta botella no fue nada más que un vino vulgar sin ningún elemento especial a destacar. Melocotones …

Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy) : { OperaWine2017, Verona } The darker color portends the over-oaked, over-wrought nature. It's creamy, which can be just fine so long as there's enough freshness and acidity to balance; I'm not finding that acidity here. Over the years I've had a lot more misses than hits with this house. Not something I would drink or recommend. https://www.ItalianWine.blog

30 months on from my last note, and it remains slightly disappointing. Long, but now almost sweet and lacks the vibrancy of Vie di Romans other wines. Fully mature.

Spicy oak on nose and palate. Butter and pineapple. Not exactly subtle.

Plenty of oak and sleek winemaking. Rich but with that attractive Vie di Romans bitter edge. Needs a little time to resolve, though I'm not sure that their website's estimate of 8 years until ready and 18 years in total is likely to be accurate.I have to say I prefer the wonderful Flor di Uis

not a huge nose, but pretty intense full body. interesting tropical nose, but a bit heavy on the oak for me. should pair well with food.

Blind tasting, decanted 1/2 hour. Peaches, apricots and kiwi with a healthy dose of vanilla but retaining freshness. A lovely nose which got me excited but this was short-lived as the palate was watery and lacking acidity with a heavy shot of alcohol which made my nose burn. It tasted better on the third night after being vacuum pumped. Tastes sweet enough to have some residual sugar.

Pale gold; powerful, spicey, tropical fruit overtones, fulsome; intense, oaky, with fruit to match, refreshing though still tight, flavoursome. A couple of years should see this peak.
