Clean nose of pear, lemon, and honey. Upon sipping, the lemon notes carried through to the palate and introduced a creamy baked apple quality. The chardonnay-enthusiast at our dinner thought this was a stellar wine. For me it was perfectly adequate without being special. I felt it lacked in terroir and vintage qualities that would have helped take it to the next level. The profile seemed to be a bit formulaic, a mass-produced, recipe driven Napa chardonnay. To be clear, …

Smoked almonds, grilled pineapple, some pine , and buttered popcorn. The acid is medium tart. Long finish with a light tingle which could be from the alcohol (14.8%). Some complexity, but I was not excited by some of its layers.

Very fragrant nose of yellow apples, cantaloupe. The mid-palate is round, buttery - typical Napa Chardonnay - with more melon and stone fruits coming out and some green pepper notes on the ending which is medium+ long with lingering, mouth-coating buttery feelings. A very good California Chardonnay at a great price point.

Would not rebuy. Secondary malolactic fermentation. Tart and sweet, not balanced. But a very good effort.

Pale platinum-straw color. The 2016 Chardonnay shows aromas of ripe pears, roasted almonds, buttered toast, honey, lychee, jasmine blossoms, freshly washed river gravel, and lemon zest. On the palate, the wine unfolds flavors of baked apple with vanilla drizzle, pineapple-mango cream, buttered toast, salty popcorn and lemon curd with notes of nectarine and cantaloupe. Medium bodied with a rich, generously textured and unctuous mouthfeel. Bright, mouthwatering acidity. A long, lingering finish.

Vino Farms Winemaker Lunch : Standard California Chardonnay, oaky, ripe, sweet, close to being acid balanced but not special or particularly speaking of Napa fruit. Okay

We opened it for holiday dinner and found it uninspiring and it was hardly touched ... set the remaining 2/3 bottle aside in the fridge for several days and pulled it out again and found it remarkably enjoyable. It was light straw colored, medium bodied, with only slightly moderate complexity, but nicely textured, the initial notes of subdued melon, tart apple and buttery toasty oak gave way on the second tasting to a interesting, hedonistic predominant tone of subdued butterscotch, …

The wine is a light straw color. The bouquet is honeydew and mango. The body is medium with notes of vanilla well balanced with the slight oak. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes nicely but not long.

Not a fan. Seems like it was manipulated quite abit. To my tastes, certainly not worth the price point.
