Cork broke on extraction. Decanted two hours; light sediment; medium garnet color with bricking. A somewhat restrained nose of raspberries and minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy red fruits, silky tannins and a long finish. Overall, a beautiful, well-balanced wine which should drink well for another five+ years.

Big, rich, ripe and fruity, this wine needed a lot of air. It lacked backbone at first but developed well. It will need decades to show its best. This seemed to best for those that want a fruity Barolo.

Deep tawny colour. Classic nose dominated by tar, dark red and blue fruit , with lots of other complexity - fig, spice and ending with a rose petal note. Palate showed just how relatively young this wine is. Intense, tannins still notable, ripe, but ever present. Very long finish. The oak never quite dissipates, both on the nose and palate. Another 10 years will benefit this wine.

The wine looks brick colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, stoniness and apricot. It tastes like strawberry. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Cherry and minerality. Reminds of a traditional Barolo, less fruit forward. Good finish. I'll hold the rest a while longer

Decanted. Restaurant service. Exotic and perfumed nose, ample expression. Notes of cherry and braised fig, star anise, crushed rose petal, melted stone, nutmeg spice. Seamlessly layered fruit and secondary integration on the palate, expansive and voluminous middle, beautifully rounded at its edges. Precise acidity, with round tannins, full & polished, finishing with full rich depth.

The nose was dark and intense with a mix of ripe red fruits, spice, sweet herbs, citrus peel and haunting floral tones. On the palate, I found raspberry and cherry fruit with hints of licorice, smoke, and dark chocolate. It finished youthfully firm, displaying inner floral tones, with a bump of mouthwatering acidity.

The only riserva that they make. They’ve had it since 1990, and always been made in a Riserva style. Grippy and powerful this vintage. 1 more year in cask and 1 more year in barrel. The soil looks like the moon. White soil and solid.

VinItaly Day 4 (Verona, Italy) : Deeper crimson with paler rim; lots of licorice on the nose, deep sweet red cherry, spicy, juicy, cinnamon; great round fullness to the tannin, lots of focus and nobility in the mid; awesome.
