Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon) : Savoury, jubey blackberry, wild ferment a little meaty and quite peppery spice in support. sourly juicy, whole bunch (?), savoury peppery, unripe blackberry, talc textured tannic grip.

Dry, earthy, and medium body. Pepper and raspberry fruit pop off the palate. Light notes of sage and clove. Can drink with or without food!

Pours a deep purple N - blackberry, black and green peppercorns, smoke, violets, pickled pig's feet, black potting soil from a 5 lb bag, touch of herbaceous stem. Purple. It smells purple. P - more blackberry, black plum skin, black cherry, huckleberry, cracked pepper, caperberry, edible flower. Spicy and floral. Medium to M+ acid, soft tannins, ready to drink. One of my favorite party ready pnp northern Rhones. Juicy, easy, quaffable.

Carbonic/Beaujolais-style Crozes which shows as same. Not a typical Crozes or Northern Rhône Syrah for that matter.

Bibendum Portfolio Tasting 2019 : Pretty nose - roses, cherry, red liquorice. Sweeter profile with plenty of red berry fruit. Decent length here as well.
