Solid Zin that I will be coming back to. Benefited from an hour in the decanter. Smooth dark fruits with a nice lengthy finish. Drank in unison with the Old Vine bottle and although more expensive, this bottle was significantly better and worth the price jump.

This was second of three purchased earlier this year, and while the first one was ok, this one was much better. Smooth and with clear but not overwhelming red and blue fruits. Not supremely nuanced but a very nice wine to end the weekend, much better than i expected it to be. I don't think i will wait too long to have my third, as i do not think this has aging potential. But good for the time being.

Tasting at Seghesio Family Vineyards (Seghesio, Healdsburg) : Made from a vineyard planted in 1958 near Geyserville, this shows notes of pepper. black cherry, bramble, cedar, carnation and herbs. Nice complexity. Full-bodied, with flavors of bramble, plum, pepper and rosemary. Slightly dense and chewy.

I like Seghesio’s Zinfandels. Enough so to actually join their club. This Todd Brothers Ranch is not one of my favorites, though. I bought it through a third-party, at a spectacular price, about half the club members price. So, as a QPR, it’s Very Good, as a Zin in their lineup, it’s OK, hence the 89 point score.

To me this is one of the smoothest and least spicy Seghesio wines. It is more depedndant on Fruit flavor and is less complex. I think the Terroir is talking here.

Great evening drinking wine. Light tannins, somewhat watery lacking typical Seghesio flavor

Love the wine; hate the changes in bottle and labeling.

Crisp, dry, flavorful with massive fruit and texture. Add to inventory anytime available!

Spicy floral nose. Lighter style Zin with concentration but no dark fruit. . The balsa wood lavender taste must be new wood which impresses the wine with an artificial character. The alcohol not a feature.

Super blend of fruit. It's already showing layered flavors throughout and on the finish it's got a great, tight medium-tannin The wine drinks smooth all the way through
