Needed a couple of hours to open up but when it did it was drinking well. Would hold for a few more years

I agree with the other tasters, on the first night. on the second night, this wine opened up quite nicely with all the nuances of the grenache. I think this one can go a few more years and develop a bit more

Great bottle for this price point -- drinking well in early 2016.

nice fruit and well integrated tannin, but an unpleasant bitter note in the back of the palate. I hope it is just a slightly flawed bottle, but am cautious.

Nice CDP. Drank straight out of bottle. Nice fruit nose and flavor without overwhelming the pallet. Finish was medium and overall body was round but not too heavy.

Deep ruby color. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, kirsch, lavender, and smokey oak. Medium body, acid and finish, and flavors of dark fruits, minerals, licorice, and oak. Spicy finish. It's a bit heavy handed, sharp, and oaky for my preference, but I can see where others will like it better and perhaps time will help some as well (I have no more so I'll never know).

The CellarTracker community currently rates the Pierre-Henri Morel Chateauneuf du Pape 2009 as 88 points. Wine Spectator rates it 90 points. I align with the CT rating of 88. With that said, I am generally lukewarm on grenache and its blends found in Rhone style wines. I will continue to sample northern and southern Rhone, as well as do some comparisons with grenache wines from Spain, but I expect the medium body and minerality to maintain a glass ceiling on …

A very nice, well-crafted wine, but many CdRs show equal or better quality...at less than half this price of this wine. Indeed, it drank like a CdR. Marginal QPR. 89-90.

An easy drinking Ch.du Pape. Nice blend of berries with a slight amount of earth. A bit too subdued for my palate with a relatively weak mid-palate. Nevertheless, the fruit has a nice sweetness to it that lends itself to drinking with food with enough acidity to hold up to our BBQ chicken. I will consume my other two bottles over the next year or so.

Consistent with my last note. Good, but not enough depth to warrant keeping it around much longer.

Notes of black current, blackberry, some cherry and a hint of anise. Pleasant with well balanced tannins and acid. Friendly food wine. Good QPR.

A bit tight on pop-n-pour but really nice the second day. Nose of sea breeze, vanilla and fresh fruits. Medium body with loads of fresh red fruits, and a little burnt toast. Tannins are a bit disjointed for this kind of wine which may put off new wine drinkers. Overall a very good value for about $25.

Classic Chateauneuf: warm, fragrant, complex, with a smooth finish. Made the Prime Rib pop!

Medium bodied, silky mouth-feel. Black cherry and blackberry fruit on the finish. Drink now-2016. Not sure how/if this will evolve. But it's drinking well now.

Deliciously classic cdp style. High toned raspberry fruit with a nice raspberry seed note followed by fig, plum, earth, sagebrush and basil. Really enjoyed and a great price at $35

Pleasant, fruit forward, moderate concentration, soft tannins. Could still improve with a few years of cellaring.
