Still drinking great! By now getting a little sediment to filter. Rich cassis, moderate smooth tannin. Paired with steak and a spicy Mexican braised beef equally well.

Drank very nicely - cassis / eucalyptus dominate the nose - full body & rich fruit on palate - this wine tasted like it was 5 years younger than it's age. My last '07 Marietta Cab was starting to go downhill but this bottle was very good - paired great with steak. 91+/-

Drink up. Decanted for 30 minutes and paired with spaghetti. Blackish red color (looks young) and throwing some sediment. Eucalyptus, cassis, blackberry & a whiff of alcohol on nose. On palate, black licorice, cassis, blackberry with medium+ body, low (high ph) acidity & medium finish with tannins completely integrated / non-existent. We enjoyed this (finished the whole bottle) but alcohol on nose drops the score. 90+

My last bottle from a case, but the first I have made a tasting note on. Popped the cork, didn't decant, and then poured an hour or so later. Deep red in color. Nice blackberry nose. Medium bodied on the palate with fruit receding some from my memory of past bottles, and fairly well balanced by the acids. The tannins are quite faint and the aftertaste fairly short. A fairly good wine for $20, but I won't buy more at …

This was a pleasant surprise. Full-bodied, with loads of cassis and cedar, hint of eucalyptus. Really enjoyed this wine, especially for the money. However, on the second night, it was quite unpleasant and I tossed the rest of the bottle.

A very light wine with lots of berry flavors not typical in a cabernet. Drinks much more like a merlot.

Popped and poured. This bottle was disappointing versus the prior ones. Not sure if its just bottle variation or its getting past its drinking window. I suggest drinking up as I don't see any upside.

Brought to friend for dinner. Popped and poured, second bottle of the night. Currant, dark chocolate, herbs, vanilla. Full bodied, good finish. Great QPR. Much stronger than the 2006.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC 9/24/2011 : I've tasted this several times over the past few months, and still don't know exactly how to describe it. It certainly does not taste like your typical Alexander Valley Cabernet. It reminds me more of a right bank Bordeaux. Many things are different, in comparison to wines produced by their neighbors. I suspect some eucalyptus, maybe not from the actual proximity of any eucalyptus trees, but this may …

decanted for 20 minutes - excellent with pizza. Very consistent with prior notes but no "heat" - for me, if I need something that won't dissapoint under $25 you can't beat Marietta wines.

On pop & pour, high alchohol was apparent and wine was disjointed with food - On its own, this wine is delicious (red licorice / cassis / mint - nice balance but fruit is very primary) or with a steak - overpowers lighter fare. As long as you have at least 30 minutes to decant (I left 1/2 a bottle for tomorrow night) an excellent mid-week high qpr wine. On night 2 (under vacu vin in cellar) with pizza excellent …

I must say this was as much fun with a wine as I have had in quite some time. Just a wonderful Cali cab. Fruity flavor but tame...its lovely.

A rich and ripe fruit foward cabernet. Dark fruit and mint and lots of interesting flavors. Well integrated tannins. Very California. Outstanding value. Tastes well over its price point. If you add in the QPR this would get an even higher score. Great for current drinking but it would be interest to lay down a few bottles.

Though thoroughly hedonistic and generally enjoyable, this wine is WAY overripe. From the aromatics, which were all fermented plum, to the abundantly sweet attack of blackberry jam that segued into sweet, bright acidity and surprising though somewhat lost tannins. That said, this was a pop and drink crowd pleaser and so, I was generous with my score.

Wow! absolutely luscious fruit-forward Alexander Valley cab. I aerated and decanted for 45 minutes, but it continued to open throughout the 2 hours that it took us to finish the bottle. Gorgeous purple-black color, long expansive legs. On the nose, explosive blackberry and cassis scents with a kicker of earth and minerals, a little oak. Palate is strong on the cassis and berry, with a long, moderately tannic, very satisfying finiish. Awesome QPR -- strongly recommend!!

Big fruit, but one dimensional. 15%+ alcohol, but wasn't overly offensive, surprisingly. For $20, I can find similar quality at cheaper prices.

Simple, fruit forward cab. Bit sweet for my taste, but likely to work well in a party setting.

As always with Marietta - excellent QPR. Aerated into a decanter (30 minutes). Blackberry, black currants & touch of tobacco on the nose. Medium bodied with no flat spots - flavors consistent with nose - good fruit / acid balance (had with grilled chicken) and tannins are well integrated on the medium + finish. Better with airtime - decant if drinking now - lighter in body than the '06 and '05. 15.5% alchohol but not noticeable. Great drinking wine.

This didn't really have much of a tannic backbone, but it had enough. Wonderfully rich fruit, nice complexity, and just enough roundness of age thrown in. I think this may have been at its peak. Yum.
