Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red currant, red cherry, strawberry, spices, mushroom. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. The wine is of outstanding quality. It has pronounced intensity from the primary fruits and medium+ acidity. Medium+ finish. The wine is can be drank now.

tasted blind, and I was pretty sure this was a classy Burgundy, it was in very good shape and should be worth following at least another 5 years super aromatic, berries and citrus, gorgeous roses, balsam and toasty spice, lifted and complex, fine texture, young, oak spice, long and fine, beautiful combo of spice, flowers and ripe fruit, complex delicate woodsy notes too

Pop and pour. Maybe slightly more secondary notes than previous btl, but again fantastic. Gotta keep my hands off this for a while!

The best bottle of German pinot I have ever had. Right up there with the best non French Pinots I have tasted. Light cherry red with a clear rim. Stunning nose that shows elements of cherry fruit, blood orange, savory crisp chicken skin and a mix of minerals. Very complex. The palate is mature, light to medium body and filled with flavor. Light yet powerful presence. Elegant and lasting. Wish I had more than this one bottle but so glad …

Beautiful nose—like mature Burgundy. It closes in itself a bit on the finish, which becomes a little astringent right now. If I had another bottle I’d wait a few years.

Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: wild strawberry, coconut, cherry, soft coffee. On the palate: fantastic acidity, cranberry, tangy green notes. Lovely density and weight and fantastically elegant soft, velvety tannin on the finish. Absolutely lovely.

My last bottle, and opened at the exact right time. Every once in a while it works out. Earth, spice, red fruit all came together in a coordinated dance from the time the bottle was opened until it was finished three hours later. Sometime when I open a bottle the first few sips are extra interesting, but then that spark fades. Not here. The last sip was just as exciting as the first. If I had more I would drink …

Allerdings ungemein pikant, salzig, …

Purchased at the winery for $65. Named best Pinot of the year by Gault Millau. Opened but not decanted 2 hours before drinking. Clear medium red color. Earthy nose and character. Notes of black fruit, charred oak and minerals. Soft and elegant finish.a style I really enjoy. 93 points.

Tasted vis-avis the frühburgunder, this has more to offer. Spice, deep, slightly roasted fruit, good length, freshness, pure pinot pleasure. Plenty of time left here, but certainly in the drinking window. #Kandestederne

Light, translucent ruby color as always with Fürst. Expressive nose of sour cherry, mushrooms, musk, wet forest floor with stemmy, also whole cluster notes. Elegant, palate light but not diluted, nice sucrosité on the finish. Reminds me of the Hudelot-Noellat style.

I was guessing American Pinot for the creamy, dense, almost caramelized character of this - much richer, than I remember these wines, that is, on day one. On day two this tightens, showing a lighter, more feminine character, more chalky and true to form. Still a very toung wine. #from HSA##champagnetasting

Lovely bouquet. Not quite like the other two bottles though. This one more stern and savoury. Excellent quality of fruit with nice smokey character. This one needed more time though.

I clearly have an eccentric non-Burgundian take on PN compared with many of you out there. This is now ready. Packed with earth, wild strawberry and dark cherry. Tufa-esque minerality with hints of pepper spice. Dark, brooding - superb. Now but no rush - my original drink by 2028 seems a good bet. 92+

Tasted aside the 13 Hundsrück ! Both were underperforming last night. Not bad bottles. Just not so good wine !!! Thin and uninspiring ! Double decanted 24 h in advance. ?????

I found this delicious! A pale-ish brownish-red. Lovely fruit scents and violets. Silky, luxurious palate. Sweetish. Really quite beautiful fruit. Restrained and classy, and just beautiful. Caressing finish. Right up my alley.

Pop and pour. The nose...just enrapturing. Soft coffee and coconut notes, bright raspberry, ripe wild strawberry, herbal notes, savory notes...amazing complexity. On the palate, lovely acidity, a touch of bitter medicine, earth and tree bark, then red raspberry, pepper. Medium bodied, and soft but very finely grained tannin on the finish. My best bottle so far.

Decanted. Yum, but maybe more closed up than my previous btl. On the nose, sweet oak, ripe cherry, a touch of herbs, but everything is beautifully integrated. On the palate, lovely acidity, sofy oak toast, intense minerality, sweet red cherry and pomegranate...nevertheless, surprisingly lightly textured. Then, soft tannin on the clean, red fruited finish.

This was stunning...again, a great way to kick off 2019. The nose is just heavenly with loads of spicy, whole cluster pinot fruit, perfume in spades and pure sweet strawberry...just wafts from the glass. On the palate, spot-on acidity, and mirrors the nose, very fine tannin on the finish. Day 2:.open unrefrigerated overnight. This is going to be mindblowingly good in a few more years, but it is already amazing. Better than last night imo: aromatic intensity is still there …

German Pinot Masterclass with MW Anne Krebiehl (Hotel og Restaurations Skolen, Valby, Copenhagen) : Rubharb pie! Fresh red fruit. Many layered nose. and a note that I really savour, but cannot place. Palate is a little simple and quite dense. Salty finish. Overall a nice balance between acidity and sweetness. Anne Krebiehl says it has ageing potential, Im not as sure.

Opened this one to enjoy over an evening, fine elegance, precise rich but fresh red and black fruit, great spicy depth on the midpalate, this is all about finesse, ending long+ with a still lively acidity, to enjoy now and over the next decade+, increasing dense aromas with a decent decant or slow ox, ***(*+ -?), 92+ potential

Another case of failing to read my earlier note from last year (must tag bottles in cellar with "leave till..." indicators). Nonetheless a potentially excellent focussed concoction of smoky cherry and charred oak and spice, classic bitter cherry PN finish and assertive but easing acidity. Granitic minerality. Needs time to integrate. Very German. LEAVE till 2020. Will reach 90-92?+ I have no doubt. (Off to buy aforesaid tags).

Well this is interesting. I am not sure if it's $90+ interesting, but that's a different question. There's an even and pure fruit, nothing is extreme or poking out. Something in the wine reminds me of the aromas of a home at Christmas, with pine, spice, a touch of roasted meat and a warmth (not alcohol) that permeates the wine. It's a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir, and is completely drinkable now. That's where my misgiving over the pricing comes in. …

Floral nose with ripe fruit, gentle oak and velvet. The ripe fruit almost gave away its true non burgundian identity, but the palate is very burgundian with a soft touch of elegance and balanced sweetness. A bit simple but enjoyable. It tastes like a very good burgundy village wine.

Serious infanticide! First hit was aromas of charred oak. This remains in the background on the tongue. The fruit element is focussed cherry with hints of clove, the whole very tight and with a seering core acidity that will need considerable time to resolve. Will not touch till 2020 and would expect this wine to be good for possibly 15+ years from vintage with this structure. Potentially in the 90-92?+ range.

During a Merchant tasting guided by an MW. Light garnet, color on the light side. Discrete nose of nose of lots of new oak spices with red fruit. Reminds me aromatically of a Hudelot Noellat Vougeot in a slender year. Clearly more red aromas than blue ones, very prominent oak that needs to integrate, this seemed to be the hallmark of Rudolf Furst in this tasting. The palate is fresh with soft tannins, a tad to lean for me still. …
