Cavit Merlot Sanvigilio

From a 375ml bottle. On the nose some red toned fruit/berries. Light bodied, soft and smooth, gentle tannins and acidity, delivering red berries and cherries. Short finish. A harmless and mediocre quaffer.

Somewhat translucent dark ruby color. Soft, ripe and somewhat reticent nose with aromas of plummy fruit, overripe red berries and some strawberries. Overall the wine feels rather generic. On the palate the wine feels more dry than the sweet nose suggested with flavors of fresh berries, notes of raspberries, bilberries and cherries on the fore, with nuances of sweet plums and pipe tobacco in the background.
