Deep and rich and spectacular. Vibrant nose, great length, and a spectacular mouth that’s full and deep and dark and full of deep cherries and dark earth. Quite a feeling.

Is there a better California syrah? Endless finish, great mouth feel -- complex, elegant. Dark fruit, grilled meats, pomegranate. I love this wine -- balanced, moderate alcohol. Youthful. Bravo.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), blackberry, prune, plum, smokey bacon, light toast, black pepper and meaty.

Took to a party, so no detailed notes. Compared to a bottle I had about 18 months ago, it's now completely integrated. Still fairly tannic. No "wow" factor and not readily identifiable as a Syrah.

Decanted for 1 hour and paired with smoked chicken on the bone. Black in the glass. Floral, blackberry, black olive, saline on nose - similar flavor profile on the palate. Medium body, elegant, with medium acidity and long finish. Nice food wine and this will age well. 91-92 range and would buy again.

Fantastic Syrah. On the elegant side with great balance and structure. Coffee, dark fruits and some nice earthy notes to round it all out. This Ojai Syrah has aged well

Parker's description as feminine and floral is pretty accurate, but it's not lacking in testosterone, either. A tad disappointing, however - it just didn't seem fully integrated, and I had been expecting more in the way of minerals and spices. I suspect (hope) it will improve with another year or two in the bottle.

Part of a THompson Vineyard tasting. This was the oldest wine in the tasting and to my palate the best. Good dark fruits, full bodied with a nice long finish.

Great wine from one of the most underrated producers in California. Dark fruit, cured meats, spice -- incredibly long finish, viscous and firm tannins. This wine has many more years of life. Thank you Adam & Fabien.

At least 75% Syrah with dollops of Grenache and Mourvedre. In the glass, garnet. On the nose, leather and flowers. On the palate, medium-bodied, cherry with subtle hints of mint, vanilla and licorice. Silky smooth tannins. Although there's no Viognier in this blend, the flavor profile of this elegant wine is more northern than southern Rhone. A delightful wine, but be advised, it lacks the full-bodied punch of Ojai's Roll Ranch Syrah. Drink now.
