Was under synthetic cork for too long. Weird nutty thing emerged after about 15 mins. Seemed like good raw material and elegant at first, though. Shame.

Excellent old world wine. There is a beautiful purity to the wine, which is peppery on the palate and finish. Drinking beautifully at the moment and should for at least another decade.

Complex aroma of licorice, soy beans, and berry fruit. A little barnyard when first opened, but this goes away quickly. On first opening, this is not just spritzy, but tastes as if it were still fermenting. After 10-15 minutes, the flavors settle down, the spritziness more or less goes away to reveal a complex amalgam of flavors. The previous description of tempeh is pretty much spot on, though I also get some chalky spice which disappears over time, some dark …

Wow! What an interesting wine. All the umph you expect from a northern Rhone. Yet full of life as is the grapes were crushed yesterday. Makes you just want to smile.

In fairness this had the advantage of being open for 24 hours, now drinking the second half of the bottle. The wine is very dark, nearly opaque, showing deep ruby and a dark purple core with very little rim variation. The wine has medium-plus concentration and shows medium viscosity. On the nose the wine shows medium intensity. Looking past the incredibly complex array of non-fruit aromas for a moment, the wine shows oven-dried black cherries, macerated plum or plum-alcohol infusion, …

Very rustic wine with cloudy appearance that didn't settle out much. The comments by the previous reviewers were spot on. Lots of fruit on the nose initially, and smells included some mild tanginess and pepper characteristic of Syrah. Initially even reminded me of a Pinot Noir. The palate was (pleasantly) much different from the nose, with truffles, earthiness, and ending with a complex cheese and yeastiness that was unique and interesting--almost like an unfiltered cloudy beer. I bought this wine …

This wine tastes and smells exactly like tempeh, which is itself a complex amalgam of flavors that include mushrooms and nuts. And there are a lot of other things going on here: it's a medium bodied wine that's both spritzy on the tongue and shows good depth and length, and the acidity is very fresh, and fresh red and black fruits show up too. But at the end of the day, it comes down to whether you enjoy the taste …

Absolutely drop dead gorgeous, as long as you consume the bottle within one hour of opening it. If it sits longer than that, this wine oxidizes into a mass of hazelnut smells and tastes that are awful. I don't know why it is so short lived (and I have seen this phenomenon occur in three bottles), but for that first blush of freshness it's worth it. Right out of the bottle this is full of delicate Syrah fruit, with bacon- …

A rustic, wild and edgy wine. Subtle fruits, mild tannins, very old world, classic styling. Huge, intense mushroom nose with mineral and olive notes. Medium body, purple color, a little "skunk & funk" mixed in as well. Imagine Old Wild West cowboys; sweaty, dirty, romantic & sexy making and bottling wine the old fashioned way. If this is the taste you're after this is the perfect wine.
