Typical New Zealand; aromatic and powerful. Developed PN on the nose, with ripe strawberries, dark plums, raspberry candies and some oak. Juicy and meaty on the palate with sweet fruit and good acidity.

Tasted at The Whitewater Valley Wine Society, UK, an evening of Spy Valley Wines with Tony Cloke, European Sales Manager. Medium cherry. Typical NZ style, medium bodied, light berry fruits, raspberries. Good overall.

VC Wednesday night group (Ypsilanti, MI) : Elegant and lightweight, unmistakably Pinot Noir. Ironically, I thought this was more typical PN than the Gouges that followed, despite this being far from the PN homeland.
