I think this wine is on the downward slide. The last few bottles have been mediocre and have a bit of an oxidized taste. If you still have them, drink up. I've got four left from a case and they are going to be consumed promptly.

soft tannins supporting nice integration of dark ripe fruits nose and palate and well balanced, just straight forward goodness , no real complexity in terms of layering but very enjoyable

very good for the price. Rich, cedar and vanilla napa cabernet, big fruit, would buy more.

Dark and earthy nose. Pleasing fruit throughout with hints of chocolate and finely balanced tannins on the finish. It was even better second day.

I think this is one of the better value wines. I bought it as a second bottle and a drinker. It stands up well as a first bottle. Solid fruit and tannins. Good nose and finish.

Decanted this wine before review. Dark garnet color, almost purple to the edge. Dark ripe fruit aromas with a hint of cedar and coffee. In the mouth, nice velvety mouth feel with more dark fruit and a touch of anise.

Not a deep and thought provoking wine, but a very pleasant, not too heavy everyday wine that does last well over a few days

I really like this wine for the price. It has great fruit and balanced tannins. For the price it can't be beat. I bought a second case and am thinking about buying a third. GET SOME.

Deep purple in color with lovely aromas of dark cherry, cedar, and hidden toasty spiced vanilla undertones. Soft and tongue coating in the mouth with flavors of blackberry, plum, and finishing with long and firm tannins. Very nice wine for the price and drinking well right now with plenty left in the tank for aging another 3-5 years. If you own multiple bottles of this wine, pick a nice evening and grill a Filet, NY, or Rib Eye w Portabello …

This is the first bottle of the 06 I drank. It was surprisingly good for the price. Great fruit and tannins with a long finish.

Musty, almost dirty on the first taste, then a bit of a wow factor as it opened up into the evening. A drinkable, reasonable bottle of red that basically doubles in price with air. Nuture this bottle, be patient, the rewards are hidden at first then come flying out of the bottle. I like this wine.

Not my favorite, this wine is only OK. Way too thin for a Cabernet, especially from Alexander Valley. Not even close to medium bodied. We do get some really ripe blackberry pie fruit. But we also get some pretty unruly tannins, all over the mouth, and all the way to the finish. I think 2006 was a struggle for the vineyards and wineries, and this is proof. Almost no mid palate. Limited acidity. Watery. Where is the oak? Back to …

A nose of ripe berries, medium to dark ruby color. Flavors of black cherry, cassis, vanilla and oak spice, a little hot, an average Cab.

Really nice CA Cabernet. Less powerful than some others of the region, at the price, and that's a good thing.

VERY VERY DRY....little nose and very little taste at all. Tried again the next day....still painfully dry, but has really opened up. I may have to let a bottle sit for a few and try again....it has caught my attention.

Great value from WSJ wines. Rich, CA Cab. Wine was balanced and it was not a fruit bomb. Dark color with a smooth finish. Great QPR
