Drinking really well, nose excellent, no hint of over-aged characters

Little bit underwhelmed by this, but maybe I was just tired. Lovely wine, but lacking the complexity I normally associate with good Shiraz of this age.

One of the best bottles of Turkey Flat I’ve ever had. Has a distinct sulpher mercaptan character which sounds bad but isn’t. And it gives complexity lifting this far above the typical blackberry Barossa shiraz. Near perfect weight for a ripe wine. 14.5%, screwcap

Classic Barossa Shiraz! Lovely, fruity flavours from first taste, lingering long after. Magic tannin structure that stays, a great wine and so glad that is another 7 in the cellar to drink over the next 10 years or so.

I get some eucalyptus and amaro herbs on the nose while I can just pick out a hint of meatiness underneath as well as a touch of wood smoke. Initially there is a burst of sweet fruit, both read and black, on the palate that dissipates to provide a more savoury finish with a smoky element. There's acidity that provides juiciness, but isn't intrusive while the tannin structure is is fine and unobtrusive but lets you know it is there …

Superbly Barossa with rich mouth-filling fruit still evident. Some tobacco characteristics emerging on a complex palate. Enjoyed with lamb chops and harissa aubergine. I have 4 of these left and will enjoy them in the next few years.

Not a shy wine. Fennel seeds, salted licorice, dark jubes and a touch of sage come through on both the palate and nose. No doubt more savoury than it once was. Finishes with fine tannins.

Blackberry, olive and mocha. Gives way to plum. Integrated oak, immense length. Dark chocolate to finish things off. Only just hitting its straps now, so good. If I had any more, I'd hold on to them for the next 5 years.

Nom nom nom. Expressive floral nose with smokey notes. Gorgeous sift mouth feel with impressive balance and finesse, displaying gorgeous rounded fruits and impeccable oak integration. This is so delicious.

Dark garnet; intense and complex, dark berrys, black tea, orange, ethereally, Eukalyptus, tobacco; fruity, smooth tannins, good integrated acidity; long; very interessting and not to heavy, no problem with the alcohol level.

Deep impenetrable purple. Big and boozy. Made my eyes water. Lots of concentrated dark berries and beginning to show some stewed cherry. Round in mouth, with good acidity but a little out of balance from the very high alcohol.

Reliably classy wine. Full bouquet of plumb and cherry. I am! Ovely full mouth of cherry, and pepper and oak finishes with a hint of capsicum. Finish is medium long. Good structure though the tannins will smooth out with a few years in the cellar.
