This picked up considerably over the last years in depth and complexity. Bouquet of stone fruit, slight hazelnuts and chalky, mineral notes. The palate is medium to full bodied with quite some length. Excellent St. Aubin with another decade of development ahead.

Marc Colin Saint-Aubin 1er Cru "La Chateniere" 2015 Had what I believe was my first Marc Colin last week at the abortive BBR Burg EP tasting and was quite impressed by the quality of the humble Aligote which showed uncommon structure and density (for Aligote). So it was nice to move up the quality ladder here. In contrast to Lamy's Chateniere which is zingy finger lime and honeysuckle this was purely white flower and also an obvious amount of oak. …

Drinking beautifully now just above cellar temp. Complex aromas and flavors across citrus, stone fruit, mineral with secondaries of cream vanilla and toast. Harmonious and well integrated, lengthy finish.

Besoin d’aération, mais une fois ouvert il est tout simplement splendide. Très belle acidité, profil très Bourgogne / St-Aubin, minéral, fruits jaunes, floral. Très belle longueur en bouche. A revoir! 91-92

Still slightly green-tinged. Oaty, woody nose has stayed but the vibrancy of the acidity has smoothed and melded both on the nose and the palate. Fully ripe and ready to drink, I actually miss some of the zip of this wine from a year or two ago. But these will drink deliciously now. Good to very good.

Delicious again, even a little more dimension than last time....sometimes the night you drink it makes a difference

This has a big presence....with aromas of pear, flowers, and matchstick reduction. The flavors are bold and ripe, with enough acidity to keep it fresh. It leans a little sweet but is good for a night of easy drinking (91-92)

Delightful. Full bodied, stone fruit with some refined citrus notes. Burgundy origin quite evident. Beautiful with dill salmon

Rich, buttery, a bit heavy - when tasted vis a vis Pierre-Yves from the same vinyard #ShareWine

Pale yellow with a slight green tint. Oat on the nose and a touch of fruit. The palate is dry and quite tense. Very strong acidity but balanced with layers of stone fruit and oaty meal. It’s very racy at the moment which has its own enjoyment, but I think it will develop well in the cellar. Wait a bit and see.

Very good Chardonnay with a classical minerality. Some peach and lime join the lovely bouquet. The palate has a good acidic backbone and good creaminess, a little more open than previous vintages due to the warmer year. Good PQR.

Another beautiful wine from this producer. St Aubin as a whole is really starting to kick goals, probably a combination of better viticulture from better producers and a more favourable climate for the region. Has the flamboyance and accessibility of the 2015 vintage, but a mineral spine keeps everything focussed and driven. Classy wine, hang on to this until 2019 and you will be duly rewarded.

89 pts
