Dark garnet red. Delicious funky notes, a touch dirty, savory and herbaceous. A tiny bit of fruit starts to come out after about 30 minutes in the glass. Black fruits on the attack with some savory characteristics. Redder notes near the mid palate. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. A touch of heat in the backend with cherries and a long finish. Drink till 2020.

Even better than a bottle five months ago. The Rocks funkiness is even more evident this round, splendid fruit and balance. My favorite of the night.

P&P. Really good stuff...lots of black pepper, some earthy funk (Yakima Funk? Smells and tastes like Horse Heaven Hills Syrah to me). Lots of chocolate on the nose and finish. Very nice!

A friend acquired this from Full Pull. It's excellent: shows some of that Rocks funk but with pretty, complex fruit on a good cool-vintage frame. Great deal on WA Syrah at $20.

Another really good QPR from Full Pull. Well made Washington Syrah that still needs some time or decant for a while. Dark fruits, olives and smooth mouthfeel.

Wow! This is a ridiculous wine for $20. Great balance of Rocks fruit (green olive, bloody meat, blue fruit) and Boushey fruit (bacon, chanterelles, red and black fruit, earthy funk). With 5 years past vintage, this wine has really come into its own.
