Same rating as 2 years ago but this has evolved some. Great aromas of red fruits and spice. Palate was mid-level in body, so this makes it a great food wine. Both red and dark fruits coupled with some oak and spice. Very delightful!

It’s lost it’s bright violet hue, the nose is also softer, but great berry fruits with cola notes. Definitely not young but still some life to it. Ok acidity. Good representation of sonoma pinot

Decanted for 60 minutes. Big pinot with strong tannins, plum, dark cherry and spices. Long finish.

Beautiful wine. Raspberry and earth notes on the nose, plum and bramble fruit on the palate with a long finish. Recommend a decant for 1-2 hours.

PnP and very enjoyable now but will last for years yet. Aroma of strawberry, cranberry and hints of cherry. Nose was full and very enticing. The palate is just as strong with grippy tannin but packed with red berry's, spices and a decently long finish, very nice!

Deep dark berry, earthy spices on nose! Strawberry, cranberry and cooking spices. Needs more time!

Much more bold than the RN. Big difference between Sonoma and Paso. Goes great with food.

Shows deep flavors and vibrancy of this site. Deceptively accessible, especially compared with the '17 (tasted side-by-side). This wine's potential needs at least 3-5 years to begin to develop.

I can see how this wine might be a love/dislike experience. It's the third Benovia Tilton Hill Pinot we've had and we have loved them all. Mainly because of the overt pepper notes. For us it makes the wine unusual and a welcome change of pace. Thanks to OLD GRAY HARE for the notes. Prompted me to pick up at auction. This has strong white pepper with cherry cola and dark red fruit notes. Give it a slight chill and …

California Wines (Grapes & Grains, Temecula, CA) : Tasted blind, incorrectly identified as a cool-climate Syrah. Youthful and extremely tight. Blackberries, black cherry, and boysenberry fruit flavors are intertwined with smoke, black pepper, burnt toast, and dried herbs. Chewy with elevated acidity.

At the tasting room in 2017 one of the staff characterized this wine as a "problem child" because of the white pepper flavor that semed to overwhelm the wine's otherwise typical RRV cola & berry characteristics. Today that pepper presence remains but now seems to be an important actor in tying together a very bright delicious package. This is different enough from the typical RRV flavor profile to be an intriguing variation but remains very recognizable. There is a little …

This wine just didn’t meet the quality I expect from Benovia. Heavily alcoholic, partitioned flavors that use didn’t meld.

Gorgeous aromas of sandalwood and cherry. Massively alcoholic wall of dark fruit. Gobs of cherry cola dark raspberry and spice gushing with hot alcohol. Decidedly new world. Brash. An NFL linebacker at an Aerosmith concert. No subtlety here.

Rich on the palate, dark cherry, raspberry, and nicely integrated subtle tannins. Baking spice and white pepper are distinct and add complexity. A quality Sonoma pinot for those who enjoy this style.

Not one of my favorites. Earth and cherry cola. Not complex—rather dull. 14.7% alcohol, but seemed higher. Heavily extracted. Much better pinot noir available for the price.

Mineral aroma. Earth, spice, pepper notes early, then subtle fruit finish. Paired well with sockeye salmon. Likely would age well for at least a few more years.

A little too light and fruity for our tastes. Better with food than on its own.

Cherry coke with a dollop of vanilla. Too sweet, too extracted, and not enough structure for my burg-oriented pinot noir taste. Others may enjoy it, though not something I would buy for myself ever. Seems like the kind of thing best enjoyed when young.
