Ex Post Facto Syrah

Impressive

PnP, nose of stewed plums, leather, tar and some herbal notes dominate. On the palate more plum, dried mushroom, mulberries and cocoa nibs. There is also some nice lavender notes running through. Well balanced, tannins are integrated with enough acidity to keep the wine fresh and lively. Overall, I enjoyed this wine. Well made and good QPR. Has a lot to offer at this price point.

Profound syrah, blueberry-blackberry, baking spice, black pepper, lavender. Long finish.

Plenty to like about this. Great concentrated color and clarity. Dry medium bodied wine generously black fruited and herbal plus a bit of game meat mixed in. Unmistakable that this is Syrah. Finish is long and pleasant. Decent QPR, too.

Soft and plush with lots af dark, sweet fruit. Some meat, light smoke and a touch of black pepper. Wish for a bit more detail. Medium acids, low tannins, good concentration, medium lenght. Good for what it is but not my favourite style.

Lovely wine - great typicity albeit a bit too sweet. In all, good balance and nice fruit. Northern Rhone Syrah’s, at half the price, are generally better though.

Multi hour decant, this is rich with dark fruit and vanilla on the nose and palate, coming out of the gate a little monolithic and a little hot but evolves in the glass, this needs airtime and can certainly cellar for several years longer.
