My last bottle and sadly mildly corked. Still potable and even refreshing with the excellent acidity of the vintage, but the fruit was not as it should have been.

PNP. Cork leaked a bit and had some black mold. Color light gold. Nose has base of pineapple and secondaries w a green herb I can’t place. Swishing shows some RS and creamy acidity. Med long finish. This is mature and to my liking but will hold.

A very good Spatlese from a good site, good vintage, and good producer. Showed a bit of petrol on opening. Grapefruit and lychee nuts, some floral notes, as well. Very nice, and I'd say this is now fully mature at age 13, though in no danger of declining.

Kab level sweetness. Actually I think this is past prime in that it lacks the intensity of past bottles though it retains nice balance and is certainly fine to drink.

Whatever this wine was rated, it's better than that. Showing beautifully now, with crisp green apple, citrus and floral notes, terrific balance and acidity. Beautiful wine.

Delicacy and only a little sweetness at this stage of its life -- a Kabinett-like profile for a 2001 Mosel, but the Pradikat comes across in depth of flavor. Slate and yellow fruits still there, this bottle more towards the mineral.

Slate, a hint of strawberry as well as yellow fruits. Good balance and certainly not too sweet for dinner. Some creaminess. A good wine, and raging QPR from Merkelbach on 2001. Drinking well but will for some years.
