Retail $75. I dove deep into the recesses of my cellar, looking for a dessert wine (which we rarely drink any more) and, naturally, the wine I was searching was not there. So I grabbed this, thinking that an almost 16-year-old wine was likely ready to drink. Nose of lemon verbena and stone. I swear there is a bit of petrol upon first opening, but this is not riesling! On the palate, viscous grapefruit pith with a radish note at the end. A bit of creaminess with air. Still holding nicely at 14 years. Excellent. Updated drink window.

This has a vibrant nose of lemon verbena, kiwi, and minerals. Shimmering palate, with sharp natural sculpture. Bright yellow in personality. Lemon mousse with spritzy zest, green tea. Interesting.

TBA Farbe! Dunkelsehrdichtfastbraun... Nase sehr rosinig aber auch fruchtig mit schöner Säurebalance. Am Gaumen eine Dampfwalze mit wunderschönen Säurebogen. Einfach geiler Süsswein zum Käse, nicht zu fett/dicht, tolle Säure, wunderschöne Frucht... Love it

In a very special place right now. Certainly shows '06 being big and spicy yet was a perfect match for sauted pork chop covered (smothered?) in morels. Henry and I ended up just eating the morels with the Knoll and skipping the pork chop.

Savory nose. Full bodied, but balanced with acid. there is a hint of tropical hot '06, but overall, very savory, fresh peas, pepper, and bitter notes. I always lack vocab with relation to gruner, but I can tell you I like this. It is bit more plump than I would like, but overall excellent. On the upside, a truly Fantastic pairing with an arugula based pesto. 89 pts

Getting a little dark, but still bright golden in color. Smells like fresh pea sprouts with a lemon splash. Full entry of sweet, herbal sprouts infused with citrus that flows into a full but clean finish. Very classy Gruner that is slightly creamy & very pricy.
