Mazzocco Matrix

Mid+ garnet to slight mahogany rim. There is plenty of milk chocolate, coffee mocha on the nose, surprisingly for a wine of 27 years old! Lively acidity on entry almost with a malic bite; with great intensity of flavour, ripe fruit, sweet texture filled with bags of 55% Lindt chocolate and black fruits. Powdery but gently tugging tannins, the wine is a little 1-dimensional but works nicely and has a good length on the finish. A great vintage still kicking …
