This improved with time and was better than the 11/14/10 previous bottle tasting. Probably will continue to improve with more time. The nose is party coffee and part blackberry. There is a modest vanilla aftertaste. The taste has a nice blend of violets, cherries, cedar and licorice.

Dark ruby, medium garnet rim. Clean nose of medium intensity, Merlot plummy fruityness with Sangiovese cherries, tea & slight herbal nature. Medium - body, very juicy feel, medium + acidity, smooth integrated tannins. Palate flavours mirrors nose aromas. Rich fruit & good balance. Very good.

Paired with dinner of lasagna. Decanted, using an aerator, for a hour before drinking. Very nice. Cherry, tobacco and leather notes. Long, but not silly long, finish. Could have held up to a stronger meal just as well. Tannins all but nonexistent. Ruddy reddish in color with a subtle nose.

A beautiful deep red in color -- like you could swim in it and get lost -- the nose is a nicely complex mix with some coffee and fruit: not overly strong, but like a light perfume. The taste is vanilla and fruit. I taste mainly cherry, with some blackberry. There is a good aftertaste with a bit of coffee and vanilla. This is unfiltered and 14% alcohol. Harsh initially, almost undrinkable. After 15min it settled down a bit. Very peppery, some dry bitterness not reminds me of sucking on a used black tea bag. One thing I do like is a hint of pipe tobacco. Don't think I'll buy again.
