Has softened a bit over the years but still with energy. Fairly low-intense aromas but with a nice, food-friendly structure.

Jammy cherries en masse when sticking my nose in, blackberries, rosehip, leather, blood oranges and a little peppery. Balsamic and wood. Tho its a cool slinky body If it was flirtatious on the nose it's not as forward on the palate. Dry blackberry juice, white pepper and earthiness. Gritty tannins of stems and seeds, bone dry sweetness, and medium to quite high acidity. Food for company is key

A very pretty nose of red fruits, crushed mint and rose petals. It has good depth of fruit and plenty of engaging savoury nuance. There are dried fruits and some bitter rind freshness. Nice wine.

Bra.

The older the better proves to be true when drinking this wine. Amazing nose with thie hints of liquor fruits (cherry), very similar to Barolo wines. Rich mouth and delcate at a time. Great wine to be enjoyed now.

Excellent wine! Light ruby colour, fantastic forest red fruits on the nose, flowers. It is elegant and fruity with well developped tannins. Nebbiolo at its best outside Piemonte:)

Light to medium red. Faint nose of red fruit and bitter almond. Medium body, cranberry, strawberry, and wood flavours and a short finish. Texture is surprisingly soft, without detracting tannin or acid. This is best decanted.

Beautiful, pure nose of red fruit and fresh flowers. Very nice and silky on the palate. I think I am falling in love with Valtellina nebbiolo these days.

Limpid and clear. A bit of orange and watery at the edge. Can see through. Faint aromas of tar, roses and orange peal. Some sweet red berries and mint. Light to medium bodied, fine dry tannin, good acid, quite a bit of alcohol. Some bitterness. The material seems quite thin. No fruit. Nothing generous. After a three hour decant, more body and richness. Very fruity with strawberry jam, herbs, tar, roasted slope. But so light on the palate. Others liked …

Light, ruby, clear color, bit brick like. Very good. Nose: not intense; some burnt notes, some cherries, lightly tart. Taste: bit tannic, but all over easy.

A visit to Sandro Fay (Valtellina, Italy) : Tasted at the winery. 100% Nebbiolo. Made from the grapes down slope (below 450M) in the DOCG - colder in spring and autumn, resulting in thinner skins and lower ripeness. Aged in used 40HL Boitte. 13.0% ABV. Mid burgundy color to slightly browning rim. Quite a herbal/medicinal almost amaro-like nose. Lush and smooth with pretty, fresh strawberries, good length and soft but present tannins. A very pleasing and good everyday wine, drinking …
