Amazing DP Rosé this bottle was outstanding drank over 2 hours. Dark salmon color almost like that of an Aperol Spritz. Tiny refined bubbles. Nose of blood orange, strawberries, red berries, hints of brioche, delicate and lovely on the palate with a beautiful finish. Doesn't pack a lot of lift and power, but a lot of pleasure and to me that's the whole point of drinking mature DP.

*** see previous notes Birthday bubble. My last of a six pack. Peach colored. Loads of mouse and aggressive bubbles. Nutty, brioche. Buttery saline notes. Unctuous and silky mouthfeel. Tastes like the nose. This is bloody delicious. Wow! Loads of life left. Fresh acidity. Creamy. Medium plus finish. Still percise and linear. Bone dry. This is the shizzle. Prime rib dinner tonight. Watching Animals season 3 Britt did NOT like it! Lolz.

We consumed 3 different vintages of DP over the holidays - 1999, 2002 Warhol, and 2004. This was the best with full on tertiary flavors. 2004 was the least good but still good. It was drier and crisper but lacking in development. 2002 was smack in the middle. Fun to be able to compare.

Tasty and intense version of this wine. This is darker and more savory than the more elegant renditions of this wine, but I quite liked the intensity and presence. Strongly red-fruited.

Birthday dinner at Fragment : Clearly darker hue compared to the Cristal. As usual with Dom roses, rather tannic and unfriendly to me. The focus on power over finesse did it no favours alongside the Cristal tonight.

Could the 2002 Dom Pérignon be in an awkward state? Today there is a lot of ginger and bitter minerals but nothing that could be described as fruit. Firm acids, vigorous spray, pretty dark pink Warhol label. Lacks the brightness of youth and the bass notes of advanced age. Hold tight.

It is a delicious champagne but rather close and lacks the complexity and depth. Probably an off bottle or sleeping phase. Slightly disappointed after high expectation. I should try another bottle and reassess.

Deep salmon color, with intense bubbles that quickly dissipated. The intensity persisted on the palate, with concentrated layers of floral and exotic fruit notes, saline and some spice. Just a touch oxidative. A really good showing.

From Magnum. Pours a beautiful salmon color, with flavors of blood orange, orange rind, grapefruit, white cherry, chalk, red pear, and more orange. A smooth operator and deceptively seductive, with just enough silky perlage to keep the flavors lifted and alive throughout consumption. In a perfect spot. Those holding .750s may want to consider opening these in the nearer term.

Not sure whether the bottle was a little off or whether this DP is in a strange phase. Salmon color with lots of vivacious bubbles and fizz, nose of light sweet cherries, lots of chalk and rocks, very mineral and fresh with great acidity and lift. However this needs time to breathe in bottle as it took more than an hour to get some pomegranate and fat notes towards an embellished finish which saved the wine from being a disappointment …

Lovely Rosé drinking well after an hour of aeration in bottle. Pinkish salmon color, very fine and refined buddies. Mineral on the nose with hints of strawberries, brioche and wild berries. All this reflected on the palate, buttery and fat, well textured and structured, finishes long and perfumed. La grande classe!

Popped and poured. Outstanding. There is so much substance to this wine. Uber concentrated, taut champagne with lovely core of cherry fruit, minerals, spice and a little biscuit. This is still very youthful and probably has more charms to reveal with further aging.

Beautiful mid rose color. Excellent cherry and strawberry flavors and active mousse. Unfortunately there is a very distracting metallic element through there mid palate and finish. From a bottle purchased on release. I hope other examples are better since the underlying material is so good.

A lovely bottle. Deep, salmon red. Ripe, black cherry fruit mixes with light toast and roasted nuts. Cinnamon. Round and full - there is real breadth here. The red fruit notes continue onto the palate. Many tiny bubbles. Crisp. Long winey aftertaste. Has a still wine mouthfeel. Distinctive. (95)

Right after opening, the two halves of the wine aren’t quite integrated — there’s a bright and fruity Pinot noir full of cherries, like a Sonoma pinot, and there’s a frothy toasty creamy champagne. Both good though neither amazing -- in no way is in "Burgundian" or anything majestic. Tannins just barely noticeable on the teeth. Beautiful red-copper color. After 30 minutes they come together into a great cherries and marzipan pastry. Which is pretty cool and approaching greatness. I …

Had a high dosage of acid and mineral. Strong taste of green wild unripe strawberries. In my opinion it was to young and unripe and should be stored for at least 8 more years. The 2003 DP was much more better!

To celebrate our youngest daughters 21st bday...the last red label...the crazy sharp acidity has finally been tamed! My experience with 02 DP has always been with high toned, pop rocks acidity rave party...last noted 8yrs ago...and now...it's finally calmed down, and is lovely! Wonderfully aged and sultry...classic DP caramel vanilla creme, white flower florals, sauteed apples...ginger and fresh bread dough mousse... pillow soft...salty crushed rock minerality...age has brought on some nice tertiary white mushroom, dried honey, and truffle...still a bright …

Just at the leading edge of maturity, the ‘02 Dom Pérignon is bold, lively, lemony and gingery. It commands your tongue to curl up and pay attention. For the first few seconds there was a bright strawberry/cherry aroma which of course made me think it was Rosé.

Pale straw gold. Aroma of honey, lemon zest, grape fruit, eucalyptus and mint. Palate entry of strong effervescence and lemon zest, followed by mid-palate of refreshing honey & grapefruit with mint. Long finish of rich citrusy fruits and mango towards the end of bottle after a couple of hours. Great champagne with nice waxy mouthfeel, honey, mint, mango and other tropical fruits. Still great life ahead of the '02.

PnP what a lovely lemon, honey, brioche, apple with the right amount of acidity makes this a very gulpable wine. Bubbles are perfect right now with 18 years after vintage. Has a minor bitter note at the very end. Two negatives, could be a bit more complex and could have a longer finish. Even with the two negatives (meaning not negative just not as good as could be) it is very enjoyable. Not sure it will get better due to …
