Again - nice wine. I abused this bottle endlessly - 3 days from opening to finishing. Was stuck in the fridge for the days in between, but boy it lasted. A good chianti.

Diam 5, 14% alc. Rich red, fading at rim. Beautifully red fruited and herbal. Fresh. Orange peel, cherry, fennel, dried leafy herbs, and deli meats. Only light to medium bodied with richness through the mid-palate. Plentiful, fine chalky tannins. Opinion: Great quaffing pizza wine.

Has tarry notes that overlay the plum and blueberry. Lovely wine.

IWS Tuscany, Campania, Basilicata, Marche, Umbria; 1/29/2022-1/30/2022 (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Savoury, slight brett, sour cherry, smidge of volatility, cedar. Medium plus intensity acidity on the palate, savoury, meaty, massive chewy tannins close down the palate, alcohol warmth is present but non-intrusive on the long finish. Bit of a beast on this tasting. Fruit proves quite subdued.

Diam 5, 14% alc. Mid red – fuchsia. Raspberry, cherry, a dusting of cocoa, star anise, slightly resinous but gentle oak, whiteboard markers. Fresh and not at all heavy in the mouth, yet it does have depth, and a good persistence, finishing cleanly and dryly. Good energy. Retains tannic grip.

Coravin fun - Italian investigations plus supper selection (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Sour cherry, cedar, slight leather, savoury spice, a little caramel, oak with time. Medium plus intensity acidity, savoury, cherry, medium plus intensity grainy, chalky tannins close down the palate, slight alcohol warmth is present on the finish. The fruit, alas, does not get past the tannic assault. Hmm.

First bottle, corked. Such a shame, a nice shape and texture. Some issues noted with this wine down here in Oz.

Diam, 14% alc. Smoked meats, mint, iron, and cherry. Fine, sandy tannins come on thick in intensity. Good weight for a $25 red. Amalgam of berry and cherry flavour in the mouth. Opinion: Nice wine. Shows better on Day 1 than Day 3 where it lost some aromatics.

Savoury, red cherry, sour cherry, thyme and green leafyness without getting too composty. Very good drinking. great complexity.

Really nice - possibly I am under-scoring this. It took a little time to open up - and definitely food friendly. For the price is has good structure and balance. Great value.

Slightly reductive nose, red and dark fruit, better with food, grew on me

mid/deep red, translucent. Mid savoury nose of cherry, briar and follows through on palate with fine but persistent tannins and bright acid finish. Nice wine, great with soft cheese.
